Hitch Ball Sizes

Your trailer coupler must exactly match your hitch ball diameter to prevent trailer detachment.

  • 1 7/8" Ball
Standard for Class I and II light-duty towing (jet skis, small utility).
  • 2" Ball
The most common size. Used for Class III towing (campers, boats, cargo trailers).
  • 2 5/16" Ball
Required for heavy-duty Class IV and V hauling (toy haulers, heavy equipment).
5th Wheel Hitch

5th Wheel & Gooseneck

  • 5th Wheel Hitches: Essential for large RVs and travel trailers. We offer fixed and sliding hitches (crucial for short-bed trucks to maintain cab clearance while turning).
  • Gooseneck Hitches: Preferred for livestock and flatbed equipment trailers. Turnover ball designs allow you to flip the ball upside down, restoring a completely flat truck bed when not towing.
  • OEM Puck Systems: Seamless integration into factory-equipped Ford, Chevy/GMC, and RAM puck systems.

A zero-maintenance suspension enhancement built from micro-cellular polyurethane. Designed to replace factory bump stops.

  • Fit & Forget: No airlines to leak and no compressors to wire. 100% maintenance-free.
  • Progressive Spring Rate: The more weight you add, the stiffer they become, smoothing out the ride.

Wiring & Brake Controllers

4-Way Flat

The standard for light towing. Provides power for taillights, turn signals, and brake lights, but does not support trailer brakes.

7-Way Blade

Required for larger trailers. Adds a 12V auxiliary power wire (to charge trailer batteries), reverse lights, and the essential electric brake signal.

Brake Controllers

Proportional controllers dynamically apply trailer brakes matching your truck's deceleration. We install dash-mounted and clean, OEM-style hidden modules.

Hitch Classes & Towing Setups Explained

The right hitch depends on what you're towing and what your vehicle is rated for. Always stay within your vehicle's towing capacity, which is listed in your owner's manual.

Class III2"SUVs & half-ton trucks: campers, boats, utility and car trailers

Exact ratings vary by hitch manufacturer and vehicle. We'll match the hitch, ball mount, wiring and brake controller to your exact truck and trailer.

FAQ

Hitches & Towing: Frequently Asked Questions

What size hitch do I need?

It depends on what you tow and your vehicle's towing capacity. Class III 2-inch receivers cover most trucks and SUVs, while the heaviest trailers use a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch.

What's the difference between a 5th wheel and a gooseneck?

Both mount in the truck bed over the rear axle. A 5th wheel uses a jaw-style kingpin plate common on RVs, while a gooseneck uses a ball, common on horse, livestock and flatbed trailers.

Do I need a brake controller?

If your trailer has electric brakes, you need a brake controller in the truck to operate them. We install and set up brake controllers along with 7-way wiring.

4-way or 7-way trailer wiring?

A 4-way flat connector runs basic lights on small trailers. A 7-way blade adds electric brakes, a 12V charge line and reverse lights for campers and larger trailers.

How do I stop my truck from sagging when I tow?

Load support like Air Lift airbags or SumoSprings helps keep the truck level, improving steering, braking and headlight aim under load.
